FYI - I moved this question to our discussions forum, where it fits a bit better. Thanks for getting in touch with us! We do have the MOOSE Phase Field Module enabled within MALAMUTE, so if you build the code, you will have general Phase Field capabilities to use in your input files. For your questions about specific applications, I will ping @sapitts and @laagesen for sintering (where I know we've done phase field modeling of the grain-scale to inform the engineering-scale material property evolution), and @lindsayad and @jiangwen84 for melt pool modeling to get their thoughts on what can be done or has been done that I am not aware of. |

I’m exploring the use of phase-field modeling to simulate microstructural evolution. So, can existing MOOSE phase-field modules (e.g., PhaseField) be directly coupled with MALAMUTE for problems like sintering or melt pool microstructure prediction?
