TI-toolbox to unzip folder of dcm?

I ran into an "error" in preprocessing i.e. toolbox couldn't find T1 images bc no dicom files were found or converted.

It was creating an empty dicom folder inside of T1w/ and dicoms were not moving there. I was able to correct this by manually moving the dicom files to this newly created dicom folder.

I have historically just placed a compressed folder containing dicoms into ../sub-000/T1w/, and I thought there used to be an unzip action that handles that compressed folder. Was that deprecated?

Or am I just setting up the BIDS format incorrectly, and I am suppsed to be manually placing uncompressed dicoms in a folder labelled dicoms? (I can see on the WIKI that part of BIDS is ../sub-000/T1w/dicom/ organization.)

Hi @spprahl — thanks for flagging this. We revised for the upcoming v2.3.1 release.

In v2.3.1, preprocessing will again handle the documented sourcedata/sub-{id}/{T1w,T2w}/dicom/ layout more robustly, including recursive .dcm / .dicom discovery and basic compressed inputs (.zip, .tar, .tar.gz, .tgz) placed in the modality folder or its dicom/ folder.

This should be included in the v2.3.1 release in the coming days.
