What's Changed

Features

  • Rewrite get_screen_layout — now uses measureInWindow for real screen positions, returns an indented component tree with text content, filters to only visible components, collapses wrapper chains. Default output is a clean screen map; use extended=true for layout styles.
  • Simplified API — removed componentsOnly, format, shortPath params. Tree output is now the default. Added extended param for layout styles.

Fixes

  • Fiber tree traversal depth limits increased from 10-200 to 5000 across all tools (get_inspector_selection, tap, get_component_tree, etc.) — deep component trees (e.g. modals inside navigators at depth 111+) no longer silently fail.
  • Multi-panel inspector selection — get_inspector_selection now finds all InspectorPanel instances and picks the one with active selection data, fixing failures in apps with modals.
  • Stale CDP connections — scan_metro now detects when Metro restarts with a different app and purges dead connections.

Docs

  • Rewrite component inspection workflow in CLAUDE.md: get_screen_layout → find_components → inspect_component
  • Remove focusedOnly param from get_component_tree (didn't work reliably)
  • Updated all tool descriptions to reflect new behavior

Chore

  • Remove standalone HTTP server and related scripts
