In the Immich WEB Interface, Uploading a Single Photo that is under 1MB is Extremely Slow.

Machine Learning is Turned Off.

Seriously?

It is the Dialog Box You Created to Show Status of Uploads. There is a Progress Bar with the Status Box.

There is No Reason to Show a Screen Capture of that Status Progress Box for Uploads.

2. Yes, I did ask for the screen capture because I couldn't reproduce it, and the information you provided was a simple setup, not anything that would help us identify or solve the problem. Anything that is less than 1MB uploaded to any Immich instance that I have access to finishes instantly and displays correctly on the web.
3. I am trying to help you and also being patient, so I expect the same

Does the Slowness depend on how many CPU Cores and RAM Assigned to Immich even though Machine Learning is Turned Off?

I am also using Immich in a VM.

The slowness can come from two things.

• The network setup
• The disk setup (I/O speed and delay)

Underprovisioning Immich with RAM can also be an issue. As a bare minimum Immich should've anywhere between 3GB and 4GB. The database itself will probably want 2-ish GB.

My Network is Running Fine.

I am using a Virtual SCSI Disk from Proxmox for a XigmaNAS(FreeBSD) VM which is the Host for BHYVE-WEBADMIN.
Immich is a VM in BHYVE-WEBADMIN with a Virtual SATA Disk.

I did use the Script to Install Immich.

I will provide more Detail.

I am using BHYVE-WEBADMIN as the HyperVisor and XigmaNAS(FreeBSD) as the Host for BHYVE-WEBADMIN and Immich(Alpine OS) in a VM within BHYVE-WEBADMIN.

Proxmox is the Host for All of This.

No NESTING is Turned On.

I was Testing to this Out since XigmaNAS(FreeBSD) uses Very Little Resource to see if using BHYVE-WEBADMIN as the HyperVisor for Immich(Alpine OS) VM will work.
It actually does work.

As of Now if I give the VM 4Cores and 6GB Immich seems to Upload Better and Faster. However it seems to get Better Response or Performance if I Increase the Cores and Memory Higher for Immich even though Machine Learning is Turned Off.

When a new photo is uploaded, the process of generating a thumbnail and video transcoding can be resource-intensive.

So with Machine Learning Turned Off..............................CPU Usage is going to be Very High WHETHER it is Pictures being Uploaded or Video Transcodeing?

It is Understandable if there was Video Transcoding however in Our Case there is No Video Transcoding.

There are Only Pictures being Uploaded.

Can you Explain why on a Upload with a Picture............even if it is Small......................why the High CPU Usage?

Are the ThumbNail Generations being Created with High Resolution?

My man, I don't have a clue how 'high' is from your perspective, and how long it takes on your system with the high CPU usage. Is it a sudden burst or a consistent 10-second period of 100% max CPU usage? Would it be fitting in this case to show the chart of high CPU usage with the time correlated to the thumbnail generation job? The reason is that you said you had provided all the necessary information about your setup. However, after 20 messages, we received this: #18366 (comment), which is not all the info you provided; it is more complex and has many layers.

To be honest, I am getting pretty frustrated. First with your tone, second with the way you ask the questions, third with the droplet of information you provide to help us see the whole picture. I will see myself out of this discussion.

Just asking specific Questions about the Intensive CPU Usage or Resources since Machine Learning is Turned Off.

@danieldietzler did point out the database itself will probably want 2GB which was good to know and helpful.

Also to Add @radiantwave was having the same issue................Uploading is Slow with Small Pictures under 1MB.

It is not about the Setup........Immich is Installed and Running. This is why at First I did not provide My Setup until after My 7th Reply. Plus I answered what the Issue Template requested from the start.

I am not trying to frustrate you but get specific Questions answered since you are the Developer.
