https://docs.immich.app/administration/jobs-workers/ you can deploy a second node to handle jobs. We dont plan to add these jobs to the mobile client - this would really slow down the user experience. |

This isn't really feasible, the tools used for the backend processing don't directly run on the clients so it would be essentially a full rewrite of those systems. |

The feature
I would like to suggest using a mobile or web (frontend) to run the pre-processing of the image or video instead of using the server. Since my case is to host Immich on Synology NAS, which has limited CPU resources, they are very good at IO operations.
I installed Immich via Docker on my Synology 923+. The result is that I cannot backup at the beginning. I found that there is
ffmpegprocess occupied all the CPU resources. Then the server keeps going down and makes the NAS hang. And the app backup is stopped.Compare with Synology Native app. They use App to preprocess the image before uploading. The server can focus on the IO. Honestly, I don't like Synology Native app. However, they did a great job on stability point of view. I really want to use Immich. But now, I cannot.
