[Feature] Folders and Checkboxes for Albums View

The feature

Feature Request: Folders and subfolders to place albums inside of within Album view. Also, checkboxes within album view to enable selection to move/delete multiple albums and folders at once within Album view.

Background: I have a ton of albums which imported along with my Apple Photos library using Immich CLI. A lot of these albums were autogenerated somehow by date, giving me hundreds of new albums inadvertently. There doesn't currently seem to be an easy way to organize/delete a large number of albums in bulk, and I would like to organize many albums into folders for easier navigation. Folders and checkboxes to enable selection to move/delete multiple albums at once would mitigate a lot of these types of issues. The framework for multiple item selection is already in place for the "Photos" page.

Discussion: My search for prior discussions yielded some fruit, but much debate seemed to point people towards utilizing nested tags rather than albums without resolving any issues for those with needs or desires to utilize or clean up Albums instead. If Immich is to be a drop-in alternative for the corporate cloud-based services, it would stand to reason that we would want to have similar functionality in these areas rather than dismissing how the average user wants to engage with their photo library and forcing them to shift to your ideal workflow. Perhaps tags are in my future, but albums are where my prior library was organized and what I would like to continue to build on.

Also I'm not talking about nested albums, I'm talking about nested folders in which to place albums.

I didn't think that one really matched what I was aiming for, but it wouldn't hurt.

On another note, it would alleviate a lot of unproductive chatter to put more detail on the roadmap for future development. Are y'all tracking anywhere a priority list of what's projected for future versions? The "roadmap" just says "soon" for a handful of items but it would be good to have something like "projected v2.7.6, 2.7.7, etc". It would do a lot of good. Thanks again.

No, we don't publish targets for any of those. Typically that just ends up causing more issues if we can't make it. Immich goal is to "under promise, over deliver".

We are not targeting any of these changes in the near future.

You could even put a small link next to each roadmap item to the feature request, bug report, etc to ask/answer any questions about what a coming feature will do.
