I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
would love to see a four-point perspective crop/correction tool added to Immich's image editor.
A standard rectangular crop is useful, but there are many situations where a photo needs more than that. For example, when photographing a document, poster, painting, screen, or any rectangular object at an angle, the four corners of the object are no longer aligned with the image edges.
The feature I am looking for would work similar to the perspective correction tool in Google Photos:
Display four draggable corner points over the image.
Allow each corner to be positioned independently.
Automatically correct the perspective based on those four points.
Produce a new, rectangular image with the selected area properly transformed.
Ideally, provide an option to keep the original image unchanged and save the corrected version as an edited image.
This is an incredibly useful feature in Google Photos and one of the editing functions I miss most when using Immich.
For example, I could take a photo of a document at an angle, move the four points onto its actual corners, and Immich would automatically straighten and crop it into a proper rectangle.
I think this would be a very valuable addition to Immich's otherwise excellent photo editing capabilities.
Thank you for considering it!
