I don't see us adding this; archived assets are meant to be hidden, the recently added page is just a specific view to show what you've just uploaded, and adding bespoke filters to a page like that is in principle not something we do. |

For anyone interested... https://github.com/GerardUmbert/immich-userscripts here's a tampermonkey set of scripts to accomplish hiding the archived by default in albums and showing archived items on the recent uploads section. |

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
The feature I'd like to see
Add a checkbox to the Recently added page (/recently-added) that includes archived assets in the list. It would be off by default, so the current behavior doesn't change.
The problem
Recently added is meant to show what I've uploaded lately, but archived assets never appear in it. Archiving hides an asset from the main timeline. It doesn't mean I don't want to find it again. Right now the only way to check whether something I just uploaded and archived went through is to go to the Archive page and look there. Archive is sorted by capture date, not upload date. That makes it a poor way to answer "did my latest upload arrive?", which is the main use of this page.
Proposed behavior
A "Show archived" checkbox in the page header.
Unchecked (default): same as today.
Checked: archived assets appear alongside normal ones, ordered by upload date.
Archiving an asset while the box is checked leaves it in the list. Today it disappears.
Implementation notes
I looked at the code, and I think this is a small web-only change with no server or API work:
The page hardcodes visibility: AssetVisibility.Timeline in the timeline options (web/src/routes/(user)/recently-added/[[photos=photos]]/[[assetId=id]]/+page.svelte).
On the server, withDefaultVisibility (server/src/utils/database.ts) returns both Archive and Timeline assets when visibility is left undefined.
Timeline.svelte already calls timelineManager.updateOptions() whenever options changes, so toggling it reloads the list.
A sketch of the change:
Add let showArchived = $state(false).
Make options a $derived with visibility: showArchived ? undefined : AssetVisibility.Timeline.
Add a labelled Checkbox to the page header.
Add an i18n string, for example show_archived.
Skip removeAction={AssetAction.ARCHIVE} while showArchived is on, so archiving doesn't remove the item from view.
Alternatives considered
Using Search with an archive filter works, but it's a different workflow. It has no "recently added" ordering and takes several steps.
Always including archived assets on this page would change behavior for people who rely on it being a clean feed, so a toggle is safer.
