I am testing the wildcard versions of the scams and phishing and ads and trackers lists. Both lists are available at https://github.com/infinitytec/blocklists/tree/master/Wildcard%20Tests. These links will be broken once I go live with these. |

Over the next few months all hosts lists will be replaced with wildcard versions in the uBlock Origin/Adblock Plus format. This format is completely compatible with Pi-hole and AdGuard. Copies of the last version of the hosts format list will remain available indefinitely. The URLs for the updated lists will stay the same so if you are on a compatible tool you will not need to make any changes.
This will greatly simplify my management of the lists, allow much more thorough subdomain blocking, reduce list size (by a lot!), and better enable me to manage dead domains.
If you use these lists upstream you may need to adjust your process for ingest. If you rely on subdomains you may switch to the deprecated subdomain list or enumerate subdomains yourself.
Status of each list:
PLEASE NOTE: I used some scripts to convert existing lists from the hosts format into the static filters format. Some errors may have been introduced! Please let me know if anything is broken and I will get on that ASAP!
