When opening the app for the first time, macOS may prevent it from running because it cannot verify the developer. If you trust the application, you can bypass this security check using any of the following methods:
Method 1: Context Menu (Quickest)
Dismiss the warning prompt by clicking Done.
Locate the app file in Finder.
Hold down the Control key (or right-click) and select Open from the menu.
A confirmation dialog will appear, now including an Open button. Click it to launch the app.
Method 2: System Settings
Open the Apple menu () > System Settings.
Navigate to Privacy & Security.
Scroll down to the Security section, where you will see a message stating that the app was blocked from opening.
Click Open Anyway and confirm using Touch ID or your administrator password.
Method 3: Remove Quarantine Flag via Terminal
If macOS continues to block the application, remove the quarantine attribute:
Open Terminal (via Spotlight or Applications > Utilities).
Type the following command followed by a space:
Bash
xattr -cr
Drag and drop the application directly from Finder into the Terminal window to automatically append its path.
Press Enter and launch the app again.
