Firmware 4.03 to 12.40: v01.000.003 PKG

Firmware 12.60 to 13.60: v01.000.030 PKG

When I open YouTube, it asks to sign in to PSN. If I close it, the folder isn't automatically created. Should I just go to user/download/ and manually create the PPSA01650 folder? Is that correct, or do I need to activate the PSN account offline first?

i used y2jb_update.zip in my exfat flash disk, and when i run youtube, it is using p2jb 50min, it seems autoloader does not updated or it is using wrong exploit, i am on fw 12.70, 50min is still running so i will put download0.dat file after jailbreak and test it again.

Update is applied after jailbreak.
It requires jailbreak to access USB with the zip file.

So in your case it's quicker if you'll use other way to jailbreak and replace download0.dat via ftp.

Update / Further Testing Report:

The developer released a new update, but unfortunately, the same issue persists on my end. Here is a summary of my multi-device/firmware testing:

• PS5 Fat (Disc) - Firmware 13.00:
  The exploit and payloads executed successfully. I thoroughly tested it by playing games for about an hour with zero bugs, crashes, or stability issues.

• PS5 Fat (Disc) - Firmware 13.20:
  Even with the latest update, the issue remains. After launching a game, within 1 to 2 minutes (right when entering active gameplay), the screen turns black. When I press the Home button to exit, I get the "Can't find what you're looking for." error screen (as shown in the attached screenshots) and the console completely hangs/freezes. This happens across different titles (tested on PES and Crash Team Racing).

• Previous WebKit Testing Context:
  I experienced this exact same crash behavior yesterday using the WebKit method on a PS5 Fat (Disc) on Firmware 13.40. However, when testing WebKit versions on a PS5 Slim (Disc) on Firmware 12.40, everything ran perfectly and smoothly.

It seems there might be a specific firmware/hardware quirk (especially on 13.xx/Fat models) affecting memory management or shell/UI stability during gameplay. Let me know if you need any further details!

Try playing some game without loading anything like kstuff / etahen / shadowmountplus etc

Unfortunately, I cannot test that because I don't have a physical game disc available. Without kstuff, etaHEN, or shadowmountplus loaded, my digital games won't launch due to license/signature requirements.

To provide further context: I tested Forza Horizon 5 as a native PS5 title. While the application boots and loads the initial menus, the console experiences a hard shutdown (Kernel Panic) the moment it attempts to transition into active 3D gameplay.

Given this consistent behavior across different scenarios, do you suspect that this instability might be caused by kstuff or the shadowmount bypass implementation failing on these firmwares?

Update: I followed your suggestion and tested the system without loading any payloads (kstuff, etaHEN, shadowmountplus, etc.).

Even without any patches loaded, I attempted to click on a game icon (fully aware that it wouldn't launch without the patches). However, the moment I clicked the icon, the console suffered an immediate hard shutdown.

This suggests that the issue is not related to those specific payloads, as the system panics even at the base OS level just by attempting the game launch flow after the exploit. It seems the instability is triggered much earlier in the execution path.

I just finished testing with Astro's Playroom, and here are the definitive findings:

1. Clean Test (No payloads loaded):

   • Astro's Playroom launched and ran flawlessly into active 3D gameplay with zero issues.

2. Testing with kstuff only (without shadowmountplus):

   • On the first attempt, the game launched and played smoothly.
   • However, after a reboot to verify consistency, running only kstuff eventually triggered the same crash/shutdown when entering active gameplay.

Conclusion:

The issue is definitively tied to the payloads (kstuff / shadowmountplus instability on these higher firmwares), while Relapse / Y2JB autoloader itself is working perfectly and as intended.

I apologize for initially assuming this was an issue with Y2JB or the WebKit autoloader. Thank you for guiding me to isolate the root cause!

No, just install the YouTube PKG, access the "/user/download/PPSA0165*" folder via FTP, and place the "download0.dat" file there. Then restart the PS5 and open the YouTube app.

The y2jb_update.zip file is only used to update your existing autoloader.

I was just about to mention the same thing as the person above.

Firmware 4.50 – autoload isn't working (it doesn't launch the payload manager). Reverting to the previous version resolves the issue.

If the ps5_autoloader directory exists, autoload.txt will not be loaded and pldmgr_v0.5.2.elf will not be executed after the jailbreak completes.

If the ps5_autoloader directory is deleted, pldmgr_v0.5.2.elf will be automatically loaded after the jailbreak completes.

I downloaded the YouTube app from the PlayStation Store while 13.60 was still online, jailbreaked using WebKit Autoloader and transferred the download0.dat file to /user/download/PPSA01651 with FileZilla using my PC. Rebooted my PS5 to test it and it was lightning fast, in ~5 seconds it started the Payload Manager autoloader! Awesome work!

I updated my autoloader to this new version, and the jailbreak is now very fast and successful every time. However, I’m still experiencing a shutdown issue after about 1–2 minutes.

I don’t think it’s related to the autoloader or WebKit, because I’ve experienced the same shutdown issue with all the hosts, WebKits, and autoloaders I’ve tried.

I used klogsrv.elf to collect some logs, and you can find them here. Hopefully, they can help you identify and fix the issue.

You might have some bad/corrupted package installed.

Also try cleaning the "recently installed" list (that's where you see the download progress normally).

A few weeks ago, I booted into Safe Mode and performed a database rebuild. After that, all of my PS4 and PKG apps disappeared. I downloaded some of them again and manually reinstalled them. How can I find the bad packages? Or should I just clean everything? a Factory Reset?
Let me try clearing the Recently Used items.

My PKG Manager has option to delete leftovers after database rebuild.
You can also try uninstalling some packages, maybe it will stop happening and you'll know if some specific package was causing this.
Unless that's not the real cause of your crashes. It's just something I've noticed in your logs.

@najdek I did a factory reset, and now everything is working fine without any shutdowns. I’ve used Y2JB more than 10 times, and it has been successful every time without any issues, including the shutdown problem.

The PS5 scene really needs proper semantic versioning for all payloads, exploits, and loaders.

You’re all doing a great job, but the current versioning system is still pretty weird. For example, your latest version is currently listed under an older version instead of appearing at the top. This happens because you’re using the commit SHA as the version, and the new SHA happens to sort lower than the previous one.

The kstuff project is even worse in this regard: they edit the existing release tag and simply update its assets instead of creating a new release.

It would be much cleaner and easier to track if every release had a proper semantic version, like
v1.2.0,
v1.2.1,
v1.2.2-beta1 etc.

Yeah I know, but it affects only pre-releases so it's not that big of a deal. I'm usually removing previous test builds from releases page anyway.
Probably will fix it some day.

if nanoDNs is loaded, opening y2jb would lead to updating the download0. is there a walk around to prevent the update while keeping the internet if accidentally opened the yt app?

Haven't used nanodns, but blocking www.youtube.com in nanodns.ini should do it.
