Assignment #1: Join Slack and Github

Overview

This will be the easiest 20 points of the semester. Slack, Github and Atom are industry tools that we will be using in this course.

Part 1: Github

1. Make a Github account*
2. Watch this repository
3. Download Github Desktop

*If you already have a Github account, that's awesome. No need to make another one, just use that one.

Part 2: Slack

1. Check your student email
2. Find email invite: "Emily has invited you to join J4502 Slack!"
3. Make an account
4. If you have a Mac, I highly recommend downloading their Mac App.
5. Make sure to fill out your first and last name.
6. Add a profile picture
7. Introduce yourself on the #hello-world channel:

• Where you're from
• What you're studying
• What you hope to get out of this course
• If you could automate one thing in your life, what would that be?

Part 3: Atom

1. Download Atom
