Hi, I'm Jose 👋

Senior Analytics Engineer building modern data platforms at the intersection of Analytics Engineering and Generative AI.

Currently leading the architecture of a Snowflake-based analytics platform in fintech, evolving it toward a Generative BI ecosystem with conversational agents, structured LLM outputs, and Snowflake Cortex.

🌎 Based in Mexico City · Open to remote opportunities (US/Canada/LATAM)

What I work with

Data Platform — Snowflake · dbt · Apache Airflow · AWS (Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3) · PostgreSQL · Fivetran
AI / GenAI — OpenAI · OpenRouter · Snowflake Cortex · Streamlit · LLM Structured Outputs
Languages & Tooling — Python · SQL · Terraform · Docker · Git
Modeling & Architecture — Medallion · Dimensional Modeling · ELT · Data Quality · CI/CD

Featured projects

🏗️ Vancouver Building Permits Pipeline
End-to-end ELT pipeline ingesting public API data into PostgreSQL with Airflow, transforming with dbt, and modeling for analytics — fully containerized with Docker.

🤖 Conversational Analytics Agent (in progress)
Open-source Generative BI agent that converts natural-language questions into validated SQL, executes against an embedded warehouse, and renders auto-selected visualizations — a lightweight alternative to Snowflake Cortex Analyst.

A bit more

I've spent 9+ years designing analytics systems across fintech, manufacturing, and enterprise — from leading analytics engineering teams to building cloud-native warehouses from scratch. I care about clean data models, fast feedback loops, and analytics that actually get used.

Always open to interesting conversations around the modern data stack, GenAI for analytics, or remote opportunities with US/Canada teams.
