odin build Cannot Find ./cmd/snout

Confirm that the repository was cloned completely and run commands from its root:

pwd
ls cmd/snout
odin build ./cmd/snout -out:snout

Odin or LLVM Is Missing

odin version

Install the current Odin toolchain for your platform. On macOS:

brew install odin

A File Format Is Not Detected

Use the appropriate explicit command:

./snout csv-info input.csv
./snout jsonl-info input.jsonl
./snout log-info input.log --format logfmt

For custom logs, use the regex format and provide the required pattern.

A Query Reports an Unknown Column

Inspect the schema first:

./snout csv-info data.csv
./snout info data.snout

Column names are case-sensitive.

The C Library Cannot Be Loaded

Build it from the repository root:

./scripts/build-cabi.sh

Ensure the resulting library is on the loader path or next to the example.

A .snout File Cannot Be Opened

Check that it was created by a supported SnoutDB version and was not truncated. Keep the original source data and report reproducible format failures through the bug template.

Before Reporting a Bug

Include:

• snout version;
• odin version;
• operating system and architecture;
• exact command;
• minimal non-confidential input;
• actual and expected output.

Do not publish security vulnerabilities in Issues.
