I feel like a real dummy. How do I (or users) search for shows that aren't already on Plex?

I feel like there must be documentation for this, but I honestly can't find it.

The search in the Plex web app and Android app only seem to surface things that are already on Plex. If I click the filters for search, there's nothing to suggest that it will go elsewhere. How do I add shows not already on Plex to my watchlist?

I really hate to ask this because I know I'm missing something obvious here.

This is the general gist, but you don't need to set up streaming providers etc.

Scroll down to:

Enable/Disable Access

And enable those options.

Okay, I see Discover now which looks like it suggests stuff! Is there a way that I can search for shows?

You should be able to search once you've enabled Online Media Sources which should return things not limited to what's on the server.
