Is it possible to control the size (width/height) of the nodes in a graph?

I am interested in producing graphs with a combination of circular and rectangular nodes.

For the circular nodes I would like to have all the nodes with the same radius, and for the rectangular nodes have the same width.

Is there a mechanism to control these parameters of the nodes?

does the node.set_property('width', 200), node.set_property('height', 100) work for your requirement?

The behaviour of setting the property is not what I was expecting .
There are two issues that I have

First:
Following the https://chantonic.com/NodeGraphQt/api/examples/ex_overview.html#basic-setup
When modify the init() to set the properties width and height , but that has no effect.
On the other hand if modify the node_a, or node_b after the graph.create_node() I get the desired modification.
Why does this happen?

The second point:
is that if the node inherits from BaseNodeCircle the radius of the circle depends on the length of the text in the node. But the bounding box is controlled by the properties 'height', 'width' that I have set. As a result for longer text I get a truncated circle, while for short text the node appears a circle, which can be very small if the text is short.

On the same point, if the node inherits from BaseNode and the text is long enough, the 'width' parameter is ignored and the node gets wider

Thanks for the detail reply I think setting the width and height at init probably will not work because when a port is created in a node class the node min size gets calculated again.

At some point I'll need to re visit into this code base but for now you could modify and tweak the circle node graphic item paint logic here:
