You can find more information with some internet searches on the Zara Radio software time/temp audio file structure.
The clock is read when the announcement plays (24-hour hour HH, minutes mm):
| Time | Files played |
|---|---|
| On the hour, e.g. 14:00 |
Time\HRS14_O.mp3 ("2 o'clock") |
| Any other minute, e.g. 14:35 |
Time\HRS14.mp3 then Time\MIN35.mp3
|
So HRSnn_O.mp3 is only used on the hour, and MIN00.mp3 is never used. Hours are 00-23 and minutes 01-59.
The current temperature from Weather Underground is rounded to a whole degree and played as a single file from the Temperature folder:
| Temperature | File |
|---|---|
| 5 | TMP005.mp3 |
| 65 | TMP065.mp3 |
| 102 | TMP102.mp3 |
| -5 | TMPN005.mp3 |
The number is always three digits, and negative values use the TMPN prefix. The clips must cover the whole range you can expect, in the unit your weather station reports.
If a file is missing, an error is written to the log and nothing is announced.
- The hour and minute clips are played back to back, so they must share the same sample rate and channel count.
- Ideally use the same format for all clips in the set.
