Smart Setup Onboarding (eyes_setup + eyes_setup_apply)

agent-eyes can now scan your machine and automatically configure itself as the primary UI automation tool across all your AI coding tools.

eyes_setup — Scans and reports (no changes):

  • Detects 9 AI tools: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Cline, Roo Code, Windsurf, Zed, Continue
  • Finds 22 competing MCP servers across 3 categories (browser, desktop, vision)
  • Reports competing skills and agent definitions (Claude Code)

eyes_setup_apply — Applies your selections:

  • Interactive: choose which competitors to replace and which tools to configure
  • Installs agent-eyes SKILL.md, updates CLAUDE.md, replaces agent tool references
  • All changes backed up automatically
  • Supports global and project-level installation

First-run detection — eyes_status now hints new users to run eyes_setup
