New Feature: Group Same Roles

Multiple people with the same role can now be displayed on a single line, separated by commas.

Setting

Go to Credit List > Settings and enable "Group people with the same role"

Before:

Cast: John Doe
Cast: Jane Smith
Cast: Bob Wilson

After:

Cast: John Doe, Jane Smith, Bob Wilson

Shortcode Override

Override the global setting per-shortcode:

[credit_list id="123" group_roles="1"]
[credit_list id="123" group_roles="0"]

Parser Improvements

The paste credits parser now handles comma-separated names:

Input:

Cast John Doe, Jane Smith @jane, Bob Wilson

Result: Creates 3 separate entries, all with role "Cast", with Jane's Instagram saved.

This works with or without a role prefix and respects individual @Instagram handles for each person.

Delete Unused People

A new Delete Unused button appears on the People Database page when there are people not used in any projects. Click to remove all orphaned entries at once.

New Feature: Merge People

You can now merge multiple people entries into one, consolidating all their project credits.

How to use

1. Go to Credit List > People Database
2. Select 2 or more people using the checkboxes
3. Click Merge Selected
4. Choose which person to keep as the primary
5. Confirm the merge

What happens when you merge

• All project entries from merged people are transferred to the primary person
• Website and Instagram URLs are aggregated (fills in missing data on primary)
• Duplicate entries (same role in same project) are automatically handled
• Merged people are deleted from the database

• GitHub update checker is now conditional (disabled on WordPress.org)
• License updated to GPLv2+ for WordPress.org compatibility
