In djot, there's already some amount of "links that are resolved globally", such as links to section heads and footnotes, which are numbered sequentially.

Are there any plans (or explicit non-plans) around supporting the equivalents of \label, \ref, \cite, and counters in djot? Or perhaps leaving some kind of hooks for extensibility so that an implementation like djoths could support user-configured counters and reference resolvers? This would be really useful for mathematical blog posts.
