Web apps usually push out the latest version, but it appears that with this feature, you can... choose whether or not to use the latest release? The frequency at which this bell lights up and demands a page refresh is enough to be annoying, so an auto update or release channel selection would be nice.
Why was this feature added instead of just saying "download the version you want then"?
If I block this element, will I miss security patches?
