Collection of spatial data packages?

[TellAnAx]

Hi there,
First of all, thanks a lot for writing and maintaining this package! This makes the government data much more accessible for a wider community ❤️

I've got a simple question/suggestion: Are you aware of any website/project that provides an overview of similar packages on a global scale? I am currently looking for similar resources for other Central European countries. I would appreciate your help if there is already something like that somewhere out there. In any other case, perhaps it would be an interesting project for the future!? 😉

Thanks for your kind words! :)

Two lists of similar packages that I am aware of are included as part of:

• CRAN task view "Spatial" - https://cran.r-project.org/web/views/Spatial.html#specific-geospatial-data-sources-of-interest
• the Geocomputation with R book site - https://r.geocompx.org/read-write#geographic-data-packages

For my own part: when I need some other part of the world I rarely need the finest level of detail, and so I usually reach for either:

• giscoR, which interfaces the GISCO datasets maintained by Eurostat for EU (great for admin areas)
• osmdata, which interfaces the Open Street Map (great for points of interest and natural objects)
