Common Issues

If the below solutions do not address your problem, please open an issue on GitHub with screenshots and as much detail as possible (including logs listed by the plugin).

I am getting an unable to resolve assembly error when loading the plugin.

  • Did you follow the instructions & prerequisites listed in the first time setup guide?
  • Make sure you unblock the zip folder and/or all DLLs before loading the plugin.
  • Make sure the plugin is loading before other plugins (especially OverlayPlugin.dll) in ACT. It should be at the top of the list in the plugins tab.
  • If updating from an older version, try deleting your old discord plugin folder and re-downloading from the releases page.
  • Try temporarily disabling other plugins such as OverlayPlugin.dll and any ACT.Hojoring plugins then restarting ACT.
  • If you are updating the Discord Plugin from a version prior to 1.0.0.0, make sure that none of the old files are in the root of the ACT folder. If you are uncomfortable with modifying this, then a clean re-install of ACT will work too.
  • When debugging or upgrading ACT plugins, ALWAYS restart ACT after adding or removing them. Simply enabling/disabling them is not enough.

The plugin loads but the Server and/or Channel list is empty.

  • Make sure you are using the latest version of the plugin. If you are updating from an old version, delete the old folder to avoid possible resolve issues.
  • Make sure this plugin is the first to load into ACT before any other plugins (especially OverlayPlugin.dll). You can do this by using the arrows in the ACT Plugins tab. It needs to be at the top of the list.
  • Make sure you unblock the zip folder and/or all DLLs before loading the plugin
  • If you use OverlayPlugin.dll, try disabling it then restarting ACT. If this fixes your issue, then you need to replace Newtonsoft.Json.dll in the OverlayPlugin plugin with the one in the Discord Plugin's folder.
  • If you are updating the Discord Plugin from a version prior to 1.0.0.0, make sure that none of the old files are in the root of the ACT folder. If you are uncomfortable with modifying this, then a clean re-install of ACT will work too.

FAQ

How can I select which triggers I want sent to discord and which I want to be kept for personal callouts?

You can achieve this using Triggernometry. After you install the Triggernometry plugin, go to Triggernometry Settings -> Edit Configuration -> Audio tab -> Check the boxes that say "Use ACT for playing text-to-speech/audio files".

Next, you can import your old triggers from the Custom Triggers tab into Triggernometry. You can do this by simply pressing the Import button in the Triggernometry plugin tab and selecting the option for importing existing triggers. After the import is completed, modify each trigger that you use for personal use and set the option to override the hook sound to ACT setting. All triggers except the ones with this setting will be routed to the bot. A more detailed explanation with screenshots should be coming soon.

Can I use TTS.Yukkuri with this?

No, but the latest version of ACT.Hojoring added support for discord, so if you need to use TTS.Yukkuri then you can refer to that.
