Clogging prevention for Valves

Hi,

it would be a good idea, to implement a "clogging prevention".
This means, that the valve will be turned from 0% to 100% and back, once a week,
to prevent, that the mechanical valve will get stuck during summer.

The idea is good.
However, this is only necessary for TRVs that do not do this automatically, such as the SONOFF TRVZB. With Shelly TRVs, you can activate this directly via their web interface.

Hi,
yes indeed... I've got Shelly BLU TRV, and there is a setting for it.
But now, for using VTherm, I deactivated the automatic TRV control, because
VTherm is setting the valve % directly.

And in fact, I'm not sure if, in case of disabled automatic mode, the BLU TRVs are
doing the "Clogging prevention" anymore.

I still have two Shelly TRVs left (without BLU, via WiFi). Clogging is still being performed there. Although all TRVs (Shelly and SONOFF) are controlled by VTherm.

I'll see if it will "de-clogg" on my BLU TRVs, too.

Hello, the correct way to handle such addition is to propose an Blueprint in my opinion instead of having this natively managed by Vtherm (which is already too much complex). If you can propose such a Blueprint i will reference it into the additions documentation.
