User Guide
To access the settings, hold press onto an empty area on the home screen and select "Change Settings".
Mnemosyne Launcher supports multiple home screen layouts, switchable from Settings → Home screen layout.
- Timedate Simple (default) -> A minimal home screen centered around a live clock and date display. The time updates every second and the date is shown in long format (e.g. January 01, 1970). This layout is designed to keep the home screen clean and distraction-free, putting time awareness front and center.
- Android -> A grid-based home screen layout modeled after a standard Android launcher. Supports placing app shortcuts and widgets directly on the home screen across a 4×6 grid. Shortcuts can be added via long-press from the app drawer and widgets can be placed and resized freely.
The user can assign apps to the left and right text-only side shortcuts of the dock for quick access.
This section appears in the main menu if the user enables it. It shows the most used apps list in descending order and creates it by registering the amount of clicks on the app icon from the launcher. It has two layouts:
- One row horizontal scroll
- Two row vertical scroll
In the settings, the D-pad mode can be activated which optimizes the launcher usage, particularly the menu, for devices with a D-pad.
There are two types of labels for the main menu:
- Top selected label -> Only shows the label of a selected menu item above the icon grid
- Normal labels -> Shows labels for menu items under every icon
Changing the menu icon padding is recommended when switching icon packs.
User can choose two animations for opening the menu:
- Zoom (Wave) -> Similar to iOS 11-18 unlock animation
- Emerge -> Similar to Sony Ericsson menu open animation
