Feature Request: Add Whatsapp channel integration using wacli

I'd like to have whatsapp support for:

• a whatsapp channel so I can communicate with JavaClaw via whatsapp
• a whatsapp integration so I can ask JavaClaw to follow-up my whatsapp messages

That is a really interesting idea, do you have something in mind for how to implement it?

I actually tried using the Cobalt library (https://github.com/Auties00/Cobalt). It worked for some parts and covered a good portion of what I needed, but I ran into a few challenges that I haven't fully solved yet.

For example, receiving messages from a channel and sending replies reliably was a bit tricky.

Are you thinking of using the WhatsApp Business API, or a third-party provider?

I was thinking of using wa-cli also used by OpenClaw.

May need some work to support cli tools

I also looked into OpenClaw, and it uses Baileys for integration.

It treats wa-cli as a skill, but for direct chat with the agent, it is explicitly stated that wa-cli should not be used.

However, when the user wants the agent to send a message to someone or search through messages, wa-cli is used.

I think it is because of the fact that there is no events with wacli. I also looked at whatsapp-web4j, I think it would be a great fit but I don't know how active the project is.

whatsapp-web4j is actually the same as Cobalt—it’s just been renamed and is still actively maintained.
