Getting Started

The initial configuration process:

1. Download the JoinFS build that matches your simulator (FS2024, FS2020, FSX, P3D, or X-Plane) from the Releases page, and run the installer.
2. Start JoinFS. On first launch, it automatically tries to detect your simulator's aircraft/content folder on its own (MSFS's UserCfg.opt, the FSX/Prepar3D registry, or X-Plane's install-location file) — in most cases you won't need to point it at anything yourself.
3. A one-time setup dialog appears:
   • Fill in your Nickname — this identifies you as the pilot on the public map and in EuroScope, for instance.
   • If you like, add your SimBrief username so your flight plan is loaded automatically every time you start JoinFS (see Flight Plan & SimBrief Import for details).
   • If JoinFS couldn't auto-detect your simulator folder, a folder picker also appears here — browse to it manually.
4. Click OK.
5. In the hub list, select (click to highlight) the public hub you want to join, right-click it, and choose Join.
