0.2.1

What changed

  • Make Obsidian's bundled Moment type explicit so external source audits retain strict typing without changing runtime behaviour.
  • Isolate the documented Obsidian 1.12.7 settings fallback while using searchable setting definitions on 1.13 and newer.
  • Remove a redundant mobile composer CSS fallback.
  • Update the release workflow to current Node 24-based actions pinned to immutable commits.

Ripple remains compatible with Obsidian 1.12.7 and newer.

Highlights

  • Add branch-aware thread lanes, side-branch and full-subtree collapsing, and view-only flatten and restore actions.
  • Add note, thread-to-here, branch, and whole-thread reflection scopes with stable placement and progress after reopening Ripple.
  • Add thread and branch exports with configurable filenames, speaker names, timestamp rows, nested branch indentation, and hidden-note filtering.
  • Add reply, reflect, edit, name, promote, export, and delete actions at their visual note positions, including mobile-specific controls and Enter submission.
  • Preserve post, reply, and edit drafts after failed writes, and make timestamp filename allocation collision-safe.

Dependency and CSS hygiene from the directory validation: the builtin-modules package is replaced by Node's own module list, and the composer no longer uses a :has selector. Assets carry build-provenance attestations.

First release: a micro-journal for Obsidian in the spirit of Pile by Udara Jay.

Highlights

  • One linked folder of plain Markdown (default Ripple/, changeable): posts land as timestamped notes with a small frontmatter block; files dropped in by any other route appear in the feed — the folder is the API.
  • Feed and composer: newest-first under day headers, in-place editing, keyboard-first (j/k, Enter, r, h, t, o, n), a month scrubber on the pane's edge, and a gentle settle-in on open.
  • Threads: replies nest under posts via reply_to wikilinks; renames never orphan a conversation.
  • Highlights: six theme-safe colours, shown as the post's ball on the rail, filterable from the navigation.
  • Name note: opt-in human filenames per post (t or the post menu), suggested from the first sentence, renamed through Obsidian's link-aware machinery.
  • AI reflections (optional): streamed threaded replies via the AI Providers plugin — Ripple holds no API keys and talks to no provider directly; a reflection is written only on completion, and stopping one writes nothing. Everything else works without AI Providers installed.
  • Navigation choreography: opening Ripple swaps the left sidebar to its own navigation (timeline, months, highlights, tags) and gives the feed a full-bleed pane; closing restores your layout.

Ripple is an independent project inspired by Pile and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pile or Udara Jay.
