Steam is not running

Problem description

Idle Master Extended displays the message Steam is not running but you have Steam running just fine on your computer.

This is likely caused by having Steam or Idle Master Extended running as an administrator with different process privileges.

Solution: Run everything as a user

If you are running Steam or Idle Master Extended as an administrator this will revert that (NOTE: If this does not help, or you are unsure how to perform the steps there is another solution down below):

1. Go to where you start your Steam client or Idle Master Extended, e.g. Desktop or Start menu or the installation directory
2. Right click the application and select Properties
3. Go to the tab Compatibility and untick Run this program as an administrator

4. Restart Steam or Idle Master Extended
5. Now you should see a valid Steam status in your Idle Master Extended application

Solution: Ignore Steam client status

This will tell Idle Master Extended to ignore the Steam client status:

1. Go to Idle Master Extended settings: File -> Settings
2. Check Ignore Steam client status

3. Press Accept
4. Verify that the status message says something similar to Steam client status ignored
   • 
5. Now you are good to go idling your Steam Trading Cards
