Dewey v0.1.0

Dewey is a native macOS menu-bar fruit fly driven by a reduced fruit-fly connectome.

• Flies around your desktop and perches on screen edges, the Dock, and visible window edges.
• Walks, grooms, and takes off when startled by the pointer or a moving window.
• Supports up to five companion flies, with size and restlessness controls.

Download and install

Download Dewey-0.1.0-macos-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Dewey into Applications. Launch Dewey and use its menu-bar icon to show the fly.

Requires Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. This build is ad-hoc signed and is not notarized by Apple. If macOS blocks the first launch, review the app in System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow it if you trust this download.

SHA256SUMS.txt contains the installer checksum.

Validation

The DMG is built from the source commit tagged v0.1.0. Disk-image integrity, application signature, version, and architecture were checked. The 22 window-focused release tests pass, and window perching was confirmed on a real desktop.

Known limitation: the full test suite previously aborted with restlessness-setting test failures; this release does not claim a fully passing suite.
