We've had trouble reverting the rule that users must be associated with Vanderbilt.edu due to an issue with the admin cloud console, so users must login with a vanderbilt.edu email to access the site. Additionally, we've added Prof. Singh's vanderbilt email and the TA's emails to the admin db, which should grant access to the admin side.
The client for our project is Professor Florian and the Digital Fabrication Lab at Vanderbilt University. The Digital Fabrication Lab is a new lab at Vanderbilt that centres around additive manufacturing methods like filament, resin, and powder printing. A current issue that the lab is facing is an overwhelming amount of students trying to use a limited amount of resources. Because of this, students may have to wait days before being able to use the equipment. Our group wants to create a central hub for students to reserve printer times, and for professors to manage and track the usage of their printers.
Our team plans to build our application using React and express.js for our web app framework. Additionally, we plan to use firebase for our backend, and Vercel for deployment and continous integration and development.
This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.
First, run the development server:
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
# or
bun devOpen http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.tsx. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.
API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.ts.
The pages/api directory is mapped to /api/*. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.
This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Inter, a custom Google Font.

The easiest way to deploy your Next.js app is to use the Vercel Platform from the creators of Next.js.
Check out our Next.js deployment documentation for more details.
We use Jest as the testing framework in this project. To test locally, just run :
npm test
