Decision needed: the app plan rewrite — four calls (A1–A4) #149

Verdict recorded 2026-08-15 (relayed from chat — @jwildfire's words, logged by the agent so this thread stays the record):
He also asked for a structured elicitation exercise ("interview me to figure out what I want") to capture the detail he holds about the app before A3/A4 are settled or #79's body is rewritten. The method design for that interview is being produced as a separate decision artifact and will be linked from #79. The artifact page and the decisions index now carry this status. A1/A2 execution is deliberately not started yet — sequencing lands with the elicitation plan. This comment was drafted by Claude Code using Fable 5 and relays @jwildfire's decision from chat. |

Closed, and the record is on the page. @jwildfire closed this one in the local Operations Dashboard on 16 August at 21:37 UTC: "I think I'm done with this Decision. Close it out. We'll work on improving the goal separately soon." A1 and A2 were accepted on 15 August. A3 and A4 were never answered, and the artifact does not record them as answered. Both moved into the app-goal interview he was pointing at — the prep round #192 and the sittings #193 — where both had already been seeded in prose before this page closed. They now carry their identifiers there too, so the same two questions cannot read as two different pairs. One thing the close put on the record that nobody had noticed. A1 and A2 were accepted two days ago and almost none of what they committed to has been done: the July plan report carries no supersession header, #34 is still open and untouched since 14 August, none of the four surface-anchored requirements was filed, and the goal body still tells a selecting session there is nothing implementation-ready to pick — citing the very issue A1 was meant to close. The interview will reshape most of that, but reshaping is a choice someone has to make, not something that happened. His answer sat unapplied for nine hours, which is why he asked again the next morning. That gap is filed as #241. This discussion was drafted by Claude Code using Fable 5 (unreviewed), per @jwildfire's 2026-08-14 direction to surface each open decision in Q&A.
The question. Goal #79 blocks its own selection until the app-first plan update lands on #34 — and that unblocking is four calls only @jwildfire can make. Full argument, evidence table, and what unblocks on each choice: the decision artifact.
A1 — what replaces the stale 2026-07-12 v1.0 plan report, and does #34 close?
a) rewrite the report app-first · b) retire and anchor planning in the issues (recommended) · c) header note only, leave #34 open
A2 — the requirement set, given demo-301 already demonstrates most of "Phase 1"
a) faithful Phase 1–4 requirements · b) surface-anchored set, adopting the five goalless app issues (recommended) · c) one umbrella v1.0 requirement
A3 — what v1.0 means, and what is deferred in writing
a) acceptance-path v1.0 (recommended) · b) feature-complete v1.0 · c) freeze and name the current state
A4 — is demo-301 the canonical fork template, and therefore goal-bound?
a) canonical, and bound (recommended) · b) generated template · c) accept the de facto state
Please record your calls in this thread — one line (e.g. "A1-b, A2-b, A3-a, A4-a", with any conditions) is enough. The artifact's per-option "what unblocks" notes map each choice to next steps.
