WatchDawg v0.1.0

11 Jun 06:11

Choose a tag to compare

First public release of WatchDawg — a passive, 100% local privacy informer for Chrome (Manifest V3).

It watches the current page (third-party trackers, ownership, cross-site identification risk, cookies/storage, optional fingerprinting) and reads installed-extension capabilities — entirely on-device. Never blocks, stores, or transmits anything.

Install (unpacked)

  1. Download watchdawg-v0.1.0.zip below and unzip it (or clone the repo).
  2. Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode.
  3. Load unpacked → select the folder. Pin it, visit a content-heavy site, click the icon.

A Chrome Web Store listing is in preparation.

Notes

  • Bundles three tracker datasets verbatim (EasyPrivacy, DuckDuckGo Tracker Radar, Disconnect), reconciled in memory.
  • Code: MIT. Bundled data keeps its own licenses (see NOTICE); two are NonCommercial, so the extension is non-commercial (no ads, no paid tier).
  • Privacy policy: https://karimgitsit.github.io/WatchDawg/privacy.html
