Tic v0.1.0
The first release of Tic — floating, Stickies-style task lists that live on your macOS desktop. Jot a list, tick things off, drag it wherever you like. No window to hunt for, no app to switch into.
✨ Highlights
- Floating sticky notes — borderless, draggable, resizable panels. Keep one on top or show it on every Space; positions and state restore across launches.
- Subtasks, up to 3 levels — nest with
⇧Tab, drag a row to the right, or hover and click the +. Checking a parent checks all its subtasks, and finishing the last subtask completes the parent. - Multiline tasks + Markdown —
⇧Returnadds a line; style with bold, italic, code, strike, and [links]. - Solid or Liquid-Glass — six colour themes, or a translucent material that shows the desktop through the note.
- Made to be quick — roll a note up to just its title bar, find any list with a Raycast-style search palette, and reach everything from the menu bar and Dock.
- Inline shortcut hints — the useful chords appear as little keycaps right where you're typing, so you don't have to memorise anything.

📦 Install
- Download
Tic-v0.1.0.dmgbelow, open it, and drag Tic into Applications. (Prefer a zip?Tic-v0.1.0.zipworks too.) - Tic is ad-hoc signed (not notarised yet), so Gatekeeper blocks the first launch. Clear the quarantine flag, then open it normally:
(Or right-click Tic.app → Open → Open.)
xattr -r com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Tic.app
- Optional: turn on Launch at Login from the menu-bar menu.
Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
