🚀 exFAT Image Builder v4.0.2

This maintenance release focuses on build stability, FTP navigation, AMPR integration, DLC-emu usability, and overall UI polish.

✨ Highlights

  • 🎯 Automatic AMPR index generation
  • 📡 Major PS5 FTP Browser improvements
  • 🎮 DLC-emu quality-of-life improvements
  • 🔨 Build telemetry fixes
  • 🎨 Advanced UI polish
  • 🛠️ Numerous stability improvements

🔨 Build & PFS

✅ Build Telemetry

  • Fixed PFS build telemetry flickering and jumping.
  • Fixed the premature "Build Complete" dialog appearing before compression had actually finished.
  • Improved telemetry consistency throughout the build process.

📛 Smarter Intermediate Naming

When building PFS / FFPFSC from a game dump:

  • Temporary intermediate images are now automatically named using the PPSA (for shorter Windows paths).
  • Final .ffpfsc files keep their normal descriptive filenames.
  • Custom output filenames are fully preserved.
  • exFAT-only and FFPKG-only builds are unchanged.

📡 PS5 FTP Improvements

FTP navigation has been significantly improved across the application.

✅ Fixed

  • Folder navigation now works correctly.

  • Double-click reliably enters folders.

  • Better compatibility with PS5 FTP servers.

  • Improved error reporting.

  • More reliable browsing across:

    • PS5 Browser
    • FTP Manager
    • AMPR Picker
    • Related FTP operations

🎯 AMPR Improvements

🆕 PS5 Folder Browser

Generating an AMPR index from a connected PS5 is now much easier.

Instead of manually typing FTP paths, you can now browse directly to the game folder.

Features include:

  • 📂 Folder-only browser

  • 🖱️ Double-click navigation

  • ⬆️ Up folder navigation

  • 🔄 Refresh

  • 📍 Quick shortcuts

    • /data/etaHEN/games
    • /mnt
    • /mnt/data
    • /user/app

The selected folder is validated before indexing to prevent accidentally scanning an entire drive.

⚙️ Automatic AMPR Index Generation

If

fakelib/libSceAmpr.sprx

is detected, the builder now automatically generates:

ampr_emu.index

during:

  • ✅ exFAT builds
  • ✅ FFPKG builds
  • ✅ PFS / FFPFSC builds

No manual AMPR index generation is required.

🎮 DLC-emu Improvements

  • ✅ Automatic PPSA detection from the selected game.

  • PSAC is now the recommended entitlement type while preserving support for every existing type.

  • ✅ Improved guidance explaining that both are required:

    • dlc_emu.ini
    • Runtime SPRX modules

🎨 UI Improvements

  • Cleaner Advanced Build Parameters layout.
  • Better default / restore workflow.
  • Wrapped descriptions for improved readability.
  • General polish throughout the Build workflow.

🧪 Community Testing

Feedback is especially appreciated for:

🔨 Build Pipeline

  • exFAT
  • FFPKG
  • PFS (via exFAT)
  • PFS (via FFPKG)

📡 FTP

  • PS5 Browser
  • FTP navigation
  • FTP uploads/downloads
  • AMPR PS5 Folder Browser

🎯 AMPR

  • Automatic index generation on real game dumps.

🎮 DLC-emu

  • Save workflow.
  • Runtime SPRX deployment.
  • End-to-end testing.

ℹ️ Verification Stage

After a build completes, the generated image is mounted and verified.

For very large images (100GB+), this can take several minutes.

This is expected behaviour — the build is not hung.

A more detailed verification progress display is planned for v4.1.

⏭️ Planned for v4.1

The following work has intentionally been deferred to the next development cycle:

  • 🛠️ UFS2Tool v4.1 integration
  • 💿 ImDisk engine evaluation
  • 🎨 Complete UI redesign
  • 📊 Full progress telemetry audit
  • 🚀 Additional workflow improvements

🐞 Reporting Issues

If you encounter an issue, please include:

  • ✅ exFAT Image Builder version
  • ✅ Windows version
  • ✅ Operation being performed
  • ✅ Source, output and temporary paths
  • ✅ Full Output Log

The more information provided, the easier it is to reproduce and resolve the issue.
