Fosfora is an audio-reactive visual engine: effects that listen, layers that blend, and node chains that bend them. All of it is live, and all of it is driven by the music.
This wiki is the picture-first tour: what it can look like, and how to get there. The full manual lives in the repo's docs; every page here links into it for the details. Downloads are on the releases page.
The v2 interface: Fluvid over a dancer video and Aurora. Footage: Free Stock video by Videezy.

![]() Audio reactivity & bindings 83 audio features, plus MIDI, OSC or a phone, and a matrix to route any of them to any parameter. |
![]() Presets & scenes Save a look, cue a set, dissolve between them on the beat. |

Four short tours show you around the interface one part at a time: the part being explained stays lit and the rest of the window dims. First run starts by itself the first time you open Fosfora, and all four are under Tours at the top right, or in Setup ▸ Tutorials. Esc or Skip tour ends one at any point.
First run, step 1 of 5: choosing what it listens to. Footage in the stack: Free Stock video by Videezy.
- First run: choose what it listens to, find an effect, read the stack, shape it, save it.
- Bindings: make a control follow the bass, a MIDI knob or an OSC message.
- Chains: build a trama node chain on a layer, and on the master.
- Layers and blending: stack layers, blend each onto the ones beneath, and finish the mix on Master.
Something broken, or something you wish it did? Please open an issue. There is a form for a bug, a feature and a new effect.
New in v2.0.0: a new interface, with Perform, Build and Setup workspaces. See the release notes.
