Caldav and Cardav Integration

Thank you for picking up where SnappyMail left off and continuing its development as Tachyon.
As a self-hoster, I’ve unfortunately found very few viable lightweight solutions that provide proper integration with external CalDAV calendars and CardDAV contacts, particularly when multiple contact address books are involved. Most of the alternatives I’ve come across are full-fledged groupware solutions with a significantly larger resource footprint.

Tachyon has become my preferred webmail client for several reasons, with its small footprint and lightweight design being among the biggest. I would really appreciate it if support for external DAV servers could be considered in the future, allowing Tachyon to function not only as a webmail client but also as a frontend for existing CalDAV/CardDAV servers such as Radicale or Baïkal.

This would make Tachyon an especially compelling option for self-hosters who already have separate mail and DAV services and don’t want to deploy a full groupware stack just to get calendar and contact integration.

Thanks for your ideas. I have a branch where I am playing around with adding a simple calendard to Tachyon. It pulls from a caldav instance (in my case a nextcloud server) and adds all your available calendars from there + gives you the option to add/edit events on writable calendars. It is work in progress but does work with the basics.
I am not too familiar with Radicale and Baikal, so maybe you can tell me if they differ from e.g. calendars from nextcloud in any way?
Carddav is already available in the contacts sync, though I have identified and fixed a few issues on that part lately.

check out the latest 4.0.x releases where calendar is now available. would love to get feedback on how it works with radicale and Baikal as it is only tested with nextcloud
