Settings

Open the gear icon in the title bar to reach Settings. The window has three core tabs (General, Platforms, Privacy) plus one tab per enabled platform. The round ? button at the far right of the tab bar opens this wiki.

Changes save themselves a few hundred milliseconds after you stop editing. A small toast confirms when a write goes through.

General

Appearance

  • Language: English or French.
  • UI zoom: 75% to 150%. The value previews while you drag; the new zoom applies when you release the slider.
  • Theme: six built-in themes. Dark, Light and Midnight are opaque; Glass Dark, Glass Light and Liquid Glass are translucent and blur whatever is behind the window (Windows). Import reads a custom theme as JSON from the clipboard; Export copies the active theme to the clipboard so you can paste it into a chat or a gist.
  • Animations: System follows your OS reduced-motion preference; On forces animations on; Off disables them everywhere in the app.
  • Background opacity: 0% to 100% (slider). Affects the window background on translucent themes.
  • Background blur: 0% to 100% (slider). Blurs the desktop behind the window; low values use a light blur, 50% and above use the stronger acrylic effect. Windows only, and only visible when background opacity is below 100% or a glass theme is active.

Integrations

  • Allow accshift:// links: lets other apps trigger account switches through deep links (browser bookmarks, Stream Deck buttons, scripts). The card shows the link format: accshift://switch/steam/<account>. The small ? in the card corner opens the wiki.

Account display

  • Show notes under cards: when on, notes appear under each account card. When off, notes live in the tooltip.
  • Expanded folders: when on, folders show their accounts as inline sections in the main view instead of collapsing into a click-through.

Performance

  • Suspend graphics when minimized: pauses heavy animations while the window is hidden.
  • Minimize on account switch: closes the window down to the taskbar after a successful switch.

Platforms

Enabled platforms

A search field at the top filters the list by name. Toggle each platform on or off. Disabled platforms keep their data; toggling them back on restores the tab without losing accounts.

On Linux and macOS, platforms with no native client on the current OS appear greyed out with an Unsupported on this OS label. Only Steam is selectable.

Startup

  • Default platform on startup: the platform the app opens on. Locked to one of the enabled, selectable platforms.
  • Personas: shows or hides the personas tab (first tab in the title bar). A persona groups one account per platform under a single identity; clicking a persona card switches every assigned platform in sequence.

Per-platform tabs

Each enabled platform gets its own tab. Common controls:

  • Path override: type or pick a custom install path if auto-detection fails.
  • Show last login: timestamps on account cards (per-platform toggle).

Steam

  • Shutdown mode: Force kill (default) or Graceful. Force is faster; graceful asks Steam to exit cleanly.
  • Run as admin: launches Steam elevated. Windows only; ignored on Linux and macOS.
  • Launch options: passed verbatim to Steam on relaunch.
  • API key: Steam Web API key, used for ban checking and profile info. Encrypted at rest (DPAPI on Windows, Keychain on macOS, Secret Service on Linux).
  • Avatar cache days / Ban check days: how long cached lookups stay fresh before the next background refresh. 0 disables the timer.
  • Refresh avatars now / Refresh bans now: forces a sync.
  • Path override: manual Steam install path.

Roblox

  • Cookie paste: add accounts by pasting .ROBLOSECURITY. Accepts the raw value, the .ROBLOSECURITY:"<value>" form, and the full warning-prefix form.

Riot Games, Battle.net, Epic Games, Ubisoft Connect, GOG Galaxy, Jagex Launcher, Discord

Each has its own path override. Riot Games requires "Stay signed in" to be checked during the initial capture; see the platform pages for details.

Privacy

  • Streamer mode: Auto (default) blurs the whole app behind a "Streamer mode" overlay whenever streaming software is detected (OBS, Streamlabs, XSplit, Wirecast, Twitch Studio). Dismiss it for the session or turn it Off permanently from the overlay or here.
  • Inactivity timeout: seconds before the window auto-blurs. 0 disables auto-blur (the PIN gate still applies if it is on).
  • PIN lock on AFK: enable a 4-digit PIN required to unlock after a blur.
  • PIN code: set or change the 4 digits when the PIN is enabled.
  • Usage statistics (anonymous): the two telemetry switches. Mode A is anonymous counters; Mode B adds a local random UUID and can be erased server-side with /forget when you turn it off.
  • Export my data: visible when Mode B is on. Pulls everything the server stores about your install and copies it to the clipboard.
  • Send my logs (anonymously): bundle current and previous session logs into a zip and upload them. Paths, emails and account IDs are redacted first, and the upload carries no identifier. Optional 1000-character note. Returns a ticket id copied to the clipboard.

Custom themes

Themes are stored under:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\com.accshift.desktop\themes\
  • Linux: ~/.config/com.accshift.desktop/themes/
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/com.accshift.desktop/themes/

Import via the clipboard; Export copies the current theme JSON to the clipboard. Use the x corner on a custom theme swatch to delete it.

Folders

The sidebar lets you group accounts into folders, including nested subfolders. Drag accounts between folders to organise them. The CLI honours folders via accshift list <platform> --folder <name>.
