Privacy Policy — Refill
This policy explains what the Refill browser extension (“Refill”, “we”) does with your data. In short: Refill stores everything locally on your own computer and never sends your data to us or anyone else.
What data Refill stores Refill only stores what you choose to save. When you capture, pick, or manually add fields, it saves to your browser's local storage:
The labels and values you save for form fields (which may include serial numbers, usernames, firmware versions, notes, and — if you capture them — passwords). Technical hints used to re-find a field on a page (an input's id, name, placeholder, and visible label). Your settings and license status. Where your data is stored All of the above is stored on your device using the browser's chrome.storage.local API. It stays in your browser. We operate no servers and have no database. We cannot see, collect, or access your saved data.
Note about passwords: if you capture a form that contains a password field, that value is saved in local storage in plain text, the same as any other field. It never leaves your device, but you should avoid capturing passwords on shared or untrusted computers. What Refill does NOT do We do not transmit, upload, sell, or share your data with anyone. We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party trackers. We do not read pages in the background. Refill only reads or fills a page when you explicitly press Capture, Pick, or Fill. Permissions and why they're needed storage — to save your datasets locally. activeTab / scripting — to read fields from, or fill fields on, the page you're actively using when you press a button. tabs — to read the current tab's address only to suggest a name for a new dataset. host access — so you can fill forms on whatever website you choose. Payments Refill offers an optional paid “Pro” upgrade. If you choose to upgrade, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider, and only the information needed to complete that purchase is handled by that provider under their own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment details.
Your control over your data You can view, edit, export, and delete your saved datasets at any time from the extension's options page. Removing the extension deletes its local data from your browser.
Children Refill is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be reflected in the extension's store listing.
