Promises

Users can make promises (or not do) an action and put a deposit. If they don’t fulfill their promise, a part of their stake is burnt and another part given to a promise challenger. Promises can be made to oneself.

• A food multinational corporation promises that it will stop using palm oil by 2020.
• Bob promises to himself that in 2020 he will raise a guide dog puppy for a local association. He fails to provide evidence of this and a challenger notices. Part of his stake is burnt and another part given to the challenger.

A good way to keep oneself accountable. Other examples coming to mind:

• Fitness challenge: walk 20 minutes/day, run 5K, complete a race
• Diet challenge
