Citing with the current system works well, but always cites using the (Author, Year) format. If you have a text with lots of citations (basically one with 1-3 per sentence) the text becomes essentially unreadable in this system.
Unless this feature already exists (I searched for it but couldn't find it), it would be very enjoyable to have a ref macro parameter that changes the citation to simply use a number, such that it then looks like:
"As discussed1, (and later proven2 and then disproven3), (...)".
Ideally, the numbers thus used would be the same was when generating the bibliography through the <<bibliography>> macro call.
Edit: If, like in the current system, hovering over the number would show a pop-up of the reference, that would be even better.
