Which one should I buy?
KOReader works across different platforms and in many, many devices. Sometimes you want to know which is the best device to run KOReader in.
Sadly we (as project maintainers) cannot answer that question because each one of us has different opinions about different hardware and|or platforms.
If you ask current maintainers (as of 2022) most of them will tell you to:
- avoid Pocketbooks.
- avoid Android E-ink devices
- get a Kobo ***
- get a jailbroken Kindle (if you can find one)
Even if those maintainers know that some Pocketbooks and some Android ereaders work just fine with KOReader and even when Pocketbook and Android, as platforms, have certain advantages that Kobo or Kindle/Cervantes/Remarkable) lack.
This is why you need to do your own research. We will happily tell our personal favorites both in a specific ticket, our forum, and our chat. It is a good practice to question maintainer bias and try to ask online or to real life friends/family/neighbours.
At the end of the day you need to realize that only you can answer the question: which is the best device for me?
*** NOTE: Some Kobos have firmare quirks that make them a very bad advice. Please avoid Kobo Bla, Kobo Ble, Kobo Bli, Kobo Blu, Kobo Libra 2.
