I thought it was the base-url, but that did not work. receiving a regular HttpError when changing the base-url to our internal instance, and I receive the HttpError: Bad credentials error above if I leave it default

ah shit. I know what I did. the token I generated was on github.com instead of our internal instance cause I clicked the link provided lol

Closing the loop here – I don't remember why that error exists in the code. I am running some tests and have created #27 (which may change pending these tests) to track any work done to ensure multi-org support.

I feel like I tested for multi-org at one time and was able to get it working. But, alas, that was months ago, so I will revisit this now.
