tipCalc is a tip calculator application for iOS.
Submitted by: Kyle Zhong
Time spent: 10 hours spent in total
The following required functionality is complete:
- User can enter a bill amount, choose a tip percentage, and see the tip and total values.
The following optional features are implemented:
- Settings page to change the default tip percentage.
- UI animations
- Remembering the bill amount across app restarts (if <10mins)
- Using locale-specific currency and currency thousands separators.
- Making sure the keyboard is always visible and the bill amount is always the first responder. This way the user doesn't have to tap anywhere to use this app. Just launch the app and start typing.
The following additional features are implemented:
- List anything else that you can get done to improve the app functionality!
Here's a walkthrough of implemented user stories:

This is the first time developing an app, expecially with XCode, I have to browse through a lot about the general location of where I find the tools that I need. There are some frustrating moements when I would make one change that cause an error, and after I undo the error would still exist. I spent a lot of time looking up what some of the errors mean. I initially succeeded in creating a second view with the setting, but after I integrating other features and tried to recreate a new view controller the sague process failed for some reason, so I had to abandon that feature.
