ImageMagick v.7

Since ImageMagick v.6 is now deprecated per the developers and considered legacy, would it be good to move to the currently supported v.7? I know there are a number of breaking changes, but having to create custom recipes for local builds to be in sync with web servers can be a bit of a pain.
