Currently, the Microsoft plugin still doesn't work with chat models, even when updated to the latest version 0.0.37.
For enterprises that can only use the GPT-chat model, we need Dify to support this feature and hope it can be optimized.

This is a known issue with plugin version 0.0.37. The error occurs because newer GPT models (like GPT-5.x series) require max_completion_tokens instead of the deprecated max_tokens parameter, and version 0.0.37 doesn't properly handle this for GPT chat models.

Solution: Upgrade to Microsoft/Azure OpenAI plugin version 0.0.38 or newer, which includes fixes for this issue via PR #2226 and PR #2173.

Workaround (if you can't upgrade): Manually edit your model configuration to use max_completion_tokens instead of max_tokens, then restart the service.

This is a known issue that's being tracked in Issue #32501 — even plugin version 0.0.37 (the latest) doesn't work with gpt-5.2-chat.

The root cause is a configuration gap where gpt-5.2-chat is defined in the backend code but missing from the YAML configuration that the UI uses for model selection.

Workaround: You can manually add an entry for gpt-5.2-chat in the Base Model section of azure_openai.yaml within the plugin files. However, this requires editing the plugin directly and may be overwritten on updates.

This appears to need a plugin fix — you might want to subscribe to Issue #2264 in the dify-official-plugins repo to track when a proper fix is released.

I am using the Azure OpenAI plugin, version 0.0.39. I encountered the following error when adding gpt-5.2:
