Dear CPH-NG users and contributors,

I would like to share some important updates regarding the future of the CPH-NG project, as well as my personal schedule, which will temporarily affect the pace of development.

The Road Ahead: Rewriting the Kernel in Rust

To provide better execution speed, improved cross-platform capability, and stronger security and stability, I plan to rewrite the core kernel of CPH-NG using Rust. While this transition is intended to bring long-term benefits to the project, I am still in the process of learning Rust and am not yet highly proficient with it. As a result, this migration will take some time.

Academic Commitments & Maintenance Update

In addition to the learning curve of a new language, I am about to enter my senior year of high school in China and will be preparing for the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). Due to the heavy academic workload over the coming year, my time for development and maintenance will be severely limited.

Consequently, please expect the following changes for the foreseeable future:

• Slower Update Cycle: Major feature development and the Rust kernel rewrite will progress at a much slower pace.
• Delayed Issue and PR Handling: I will not be able to triage issues or review pull requests as promptly as before.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary slowdown may cause. CPH-NG remains an important project to me, and I deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.

If you encounter urgent bugs or wish to contribute new features, pull requests are always welcome and highly appreciated. Thank you all for your continued support, and I look forward to bringing you a more stable and refined CPH-NG once this academic milestone is behind me.

• 更新进度放缓： 新功能的开发及 Rust 内核的重构进度将会变慢。
• Issue 及 PR 受理延时： 我可能无法像以前那样及时回复大家反馈的 Issue 或处理 Pull Request。

对于这些可能给大家带来的不便，我深表歉意。CPH-NG 对我而言非常重要，也非常感谢大家的宽容与理解。
