Fixed

  • Windows Update install actually works — replaced PSWindowsUpdate's Install-WindowsUpdate with direct calls to the Windows Update Agent COM API (Microsoft.Update.Session). PSWindowsUpdate filters out optional driver updates client-side even when the COM API can install them; the new code installs everything WUA reports as available, including drivers, firmware, Defender Definitions, cumulative updates, and feature upgrades.
  • Honest per-update progress — live console now streams real per-update events (Connecting → Downloading → Installing → ✓ Installed) instead of a 16-times-repeated PSWindowsUpdate pre/post search noise that resulted in "Installed 0".
  • Per-row Status reflects reality — each row's Status column is updated as the install progresses (Pending… → Downloading… → Installing… → Installed / Installed (reboot required) / Failed (download) / Failed (install code N) / Not applied).
  • Status column wider with tooltip — fits longer messages like "Installed (reboot required)" without truncation; full text always visible on hover.
  • Live output panel no longer auto-resizes — fixed height of 240px so the DataGrid above keeps its space when many log lines arrive.

Changed

  • Removed live output from Ping and Traceroute — those tabs already display their data graphically (latency chart, hops grid). The console panel was redundant and stole vertical space.
  • Single-header live output panel — removed the redundant "Live output" Card+Expander wrapper; the ConsoleView toolbar (Live output / Clear / Copy / Auto-scroll) now sits directly on the panel border, matching CleanupView and AppUpdatesView.
  • KB column header tooltip — explains "KB = Microsoft Knowledge Base article ID" since not all updates have one (drivers, firmware, Defender).

Added

  • WindowsUpdateService — new service wrapping Microsoft.Update.Session COM API directly. Supports scan (IsInstalled=0), download, EULA acceptance, install, and reboot detection. Exposes a Log event for live console streaming.
  • Title-based category classifier — Defender / Driver / Cumulative / Security / Servicing / .NET / Feature upgrade / Update, with COM Categories collection lookup as the primary signal and title heuristics as fallback. Unit-tested.
