Cross-platform SSD optimization and health utility for macOS and Windows.
TRIM activation · Write-cycle saver · IOPS-oriented tuning · Drive lifespan helpers
Not a low-level driver pack. Scripts call built-in OS tools (
trimforce, sysctl, fsutil, PowerShell cmdlets). Review every script before you run it. This is not a warranty that your SSD will last 30% longer.

SSD-Tweaker-Suite is a set of scripts for NVMe and SATA SSDs on macOS and Windows. It is meant to:
- cut extra write cycles from sleep dumps, bloated swap behavior, and noisy background logging
- help enable TRIM on third-party SSDs where the OS leaves it off
- tune cache / queue-related OS settings that affect IOPS
- surface S.M.A.R.T. health, TBW wear, and temperature when the platform exposes them
| Category | What you get |
|---|---|
| TRIM | Force-enable TRIM on many 3rd-party NVMe/SATA SSDs (macOS trimforce) and tighten TRIM scheduling on Windows |
| Write-cycle saver | Reduce RAM-to-SSD sleep dumps (hibernatemode), swap bloat, aggressive prefetch/indexing where safe |
| I/O | Optional filesystem cache, queue depth, and read-ahead tweaks |
| Health | S.M.A.R.T. attributes, TBW / wear %, drive temperature when supported |
| Maintenance | Scheduled TRIM / GC-oriented maintenance flags |
| Setting | Typical default | SSD-Tweaker-Suite |
|---|---|---|
| macOS TRIM (non-Apple SSD) | Off / Apple drives only | Can enable via trimforce |
| macOS sleep dump | Often writes full RAM to SSD | Can set hibernatemode 0 |
| Windows indexing & prefetch | On, extra disk activity | Optional SSD-oriented profile |
| Windows system file cache | Stock limits | Optional performance profile |
| Lifespan (TBW) | Normal wear | Less avoidable write amplification — not a guaranteed +30% |

Is this safe?
Scripts use built-in OS utilities. Still: backup first. On Windows create a restore point. On macOS know how to revert trimforce and hibernatemode. Read the script. Do not run as a blind one-liner on a machine you cannot recover.
Apple Silicon?
Yes — the macOS path targets Apple Silicon and Intel. Internal Apple SSDs already have TRIM; the TRIM force flag matters mainly for third-party drives.
PowerShell refused the command?
Run the terminal as Administrator. ExecutionPolicy must allow the local script (Bypass for the process is enough).
Will this void a warranty or brick the drive?
Changing sleep/TRIM/cache policy is usually reversible. Wrong flags on the wrong machine can still hurt battery life, sleep, or boot. Test on one Mac/PC first.
- Open-source shell and PowerShell — no closed driver
- No kernel driver install in the intended design
- Prefer
git clone+ local run so you see the file you execute - Reset/restore flags should live in the same scripts; if a flag is missing, open an issue
This project is provided as-is. It is not affiliated with Apple, Microsoft, or any SSD vendor. You are responsible for changes on your system. Health and TBW numbers depend on what the controller exposes.
