Charging won't start *sometimes*

After a period of stability, sometimes I have a situation where charging won't start (HA is the only way it can be turned on).

I see what looks like a timeout error, but connectivity is otherwise good, with the heartbeat and other sensors working fine. I cannot tell when functionality returns but it usually does (a reboot of HA and/or charger doesn't make a difference).

So rather than a bug with OCPP, I am beginning to suspect this is an issue at the vehicle side. Does anyone have any experience with such an issue?
